  • [SOLVED] Running diagnostics on J-Link Base?

I have suspicions that my J-Link Base is having some issues. For example, it appears to be unable to reset the target processor (and I've swapped in a few different target processors). Is there some diagnostic, or at least simple tests I can run? Just as good: will re-flashing its firmware completely erase its state?
  • J-Link Commander is the way to go:

There are several commands like SetTCK and so on, to test the individual pins.

There is also a troubleshooting guide:

Updating / reflashing the firmware does not have any effect on the non-volatile CONFIG area of J-Link. However, I doubt that the CONFIG area is the issue here.

From the information you provided, we cannot say what is the case here. Anything from user error, over „problem with device specific reset strategy“ up to defective pins, anything is possible here.
