  • [SOLVED] JLink flashing on go

    Hello all,

is there a JLink commander for OSX10.6 and will it be possible to flash (HEX) in the same way as with new versions of commander? For example, looking to flash the EFR32MG24.

Anyway, what version is best to install? Only JLink commander is needed.

    Best.
  • While we do not test the J-Link software on macOS 10.6 anymore and do not have any machines with that version available, it has a fair chance to still work.
Did you give the latest version a try?

Alternatively, you can have a Windows / Linux VM running on your macOS 10.6 machine.
Performance will suffer slightly but probably not to an extend where you will notice it.
(GUI applications suffer at most in VMs and since you are going for command line only…)

  • Hello Alex,
I have tried to install v5e, v6.k and it installs ok, however, when I want to launch the JLInkExe in terminal I get the :

dyld: Library not loaded : /usr/lib/libedit.3.dylib
    Referenced from: /usr/bin/JLinkExe
    Reason: image not found
    Trace/BPT trap

Any idea how to get around this?

    Best.
  • Sounds like macOS 10.6 cannot fulfill the dependencies of the current J-Link software.
Due to lack of testing environments and because 99%(?) of our Mac users are using the latest OS, there is no significant market for us in regards to support an old OS X version (OS X 10.6 is from 2009)

    Idea to get around this:
Upgrade the OS on the Mac machine.

Sorry for not having better news.
