Good day,
I upgraded STM32CubeIDE to version 6.1 which then also indicated that the J-Link pod need to be updated which I duly did. Unfortunately the update process failed and now the J-Link is stuck in bootloader mode. I can't get the J-Link to upgrade using J-Link Commander (J-Link.exe) or J-Link Configurator (JLinkConfig.exe). Each time I start either of the pervious applications I get the following pop up window:
"
The firmware of the connected J-Link will now be restored.
The connected J-Link is running in bootloader mode.
This happens if no valid firmware has been found on the J-Link.
Without a valid firmware, J-Link cannot be used.
"
When I click OK the SEGGER J-Link V7.50a Firmware Update window opens a the following is displayed:
New firmware: J-Link V9 compiled May 7 2021 16:26:12
Current firmware: J-Link V9 compiled Oct 12 2012 BTL
Starting bootloader... already started.
Sending firmware data...
Unfortunately nothing happens and the progress bar stays at 0%.
I have tried to uninstall J-Link and the driver for the pod and reinstall but I get the same result. I even tried to go back to V6.14h and try with an older version as the pod is a few years old, but I get the same result, it hangs doing the update.
PS. I have tried both the 32-bit and the 64-bit version of J-Link.
Windows Version:
Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 21H1
Installed on 2020/09/17
OS build 19043.1110
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3530.0
Regards,
Charles
