  • [SOLVED] Ozone for Mac OSX crash

I noticed that recent Ozone releases for Mac OSX no longer able to load elf image. When I invoke "Download & Reset Program", it always crashes. :(

I found v2.22a works find, but v2.22b and later releases crash without any messages. My Mac OSX version is 10.12.2, J-Link version is 6.12d.
  • Hi,

I am currently working with Ozone 2.22k under macOS 10.12.2, so this seems not to be a generic issue.
Would it be possible for you to provide a .elf file for reproduction purposes'?

    Best regards,
    Niklas

  • Hi,

My target is STM32 Nucleo-L476RG board which is J-Link flashed. Please find attached zipped elf file.
I tested with Ozone v2.22k, but it crashed with this .elf.

I also experienced same problem with STM32F767 target, but I can't provide the .ELF for this target.

    Regards,

    Tosh

  • I'm experiencing the same issue with Ozone v2.22m and Segger J-Link Edu on macOS Sierra 10.12.3 (16D32).

    Installed J-Link is 612g.

Ozone crashes and quits when I click on any of the three Debug > Start Debugging options.

Everything works fine with JLinkGDBServer and arm-none-eabi-gdb against an ATSAM3X8E.

    -device ATSAM3X8E
    -if swd
    -speed 4000

Please find the .elf file attached.

Ozone with the exact same project works fine on Windows 10.

    Thank you for your help.

  • Hi,

Unfortunately no luck to reproduce the crash.

Could you create a log file from starting the debug session? (Call Project.SetJLinkLogFile("/Users/<UserName>/Desktop/JLink.log"); in your project)

I'm using a J-Link Edu. Does Ozone require another model?

  • Hi,

We found an issue regarding additional J-Link licenses, which could cause the crash on macOS and Linux.
Since J-Link PLUS already includes the license for Ozone, this combination does not crash.

The fix will be part of the upcoming release of the J-Link software.

  • J-Link V6.12h includes just one important fix, but not the fix for the crash.

A release which includes the fix for the crash (Ozone V2.22o and J-Link V6.12i) is planned for tomorrow.
