JTAG-LINK stand alone doesnt detect NAND-Flash

  • JTAG-LINK stand alone doesnt detect NAND-Flash

    CPU: NS9360
    Board: DIGI CC9P-Net
    PC: XP SP3

I tried to detect the original onboard Flash (Samsung K9F5608U0D-JIB0), but all versions from j-flash 3.88 to beta 4.05 seems to work incorrect.

    1. It is a only 8 bit organized device. Using 8 bit setup leads to error "...please contact SEGGER..."

    2. But using 16 bit setup for flash I got a positive (false) result

On other than DIGI-boards the same: all which I do: it cannot accept 8 bit flash devices and 16 bit flashes deliver false flash ID's.

Possible the JTAG-LINK is defect? Downloading projects to sd-ram and controlling the cpu with DIGI-ESP work properly.

  • Hello Karli,

currently J-Flash does support NOR flashes only.
Support for NAND / serial / SPI flashes is on our todo list.

I think in your case a DFPU (dedicated flash programming utility)
would be the perfect solution in order to program the NAND flash on your target hardware.
