  • Flasher ARM: JTAG Chain with FPGA to read out Xilinx Device DNA

    Hi

I'm using the STR912 µP actually with a Raisonance JTAG Programer. At the JTAG Chain, there is also a Xilinx FPGA (Type XC3S700A).
For Security reasons, we use the Device DNA Feature to read out the FPGA Key. Actually, with the Raisonance Programer, we have to fist program the µP Boot Software, then read out this Key and then program it again, because it's not possible to use the Raisonance Programer for the necessary JTAG communication.

I have evaluated the Segger Flasher ARM, but I don't know if it's possible to use it for other communication but ARM Flash programming?
Would it be possible to use the Programer to read out the Device DNA Key stored in the FPGA?
  • Hi,

in general, Flasher ARM is more or less a J-Link with additional stand-alone flash programming capabilities,
so it can also be used with the J-Link SDK.
The J-Link SDK allows to send out custom JTAG sequences which should allow what you are trying to do.
