[SOLVED] Flasher ARM cannot programming in Stand-alone mode with MKV31F256VLH12 (Freescale MCU)
PostHi Kornwut, Good to hear that you are up and running now! Native watchdog-disable implementation for MKV31, so that no extra init / exit steps are required, is planned for future versions. Best regards, Erik

Hi, We are not aware of this behavior. We just gave it a quick try but we are not able to reproduce it. Can you please give us a detailed step-by-step instruction how you proceed? Please send us the serial number of your J-Link / Flasher so we can check with the same hardware version. Once we are able to reproduce it, we will fix it. Best regards Erik

Hello Sowmya, Just noticed that you are using an old version of the J-Link DLl in IAR EWARM (V5.12g). Do you see the same behavior when using the latest one (V6.00i)? If yes, can you please give it a try using J-Link Commander? Further information regarding this can be found here: wiki.segger.com/J-Link_Commander#Perform_flash_download Best regards Erik

[SOLVED] Flasher ARM cannot programming in Stand-alone mode with MKV31F256VLH12 (Freescale MCU)
PostHello Kornwut, Most of the Freescale (NXP) Kinetis series devices require some special handling (e.g. reset, connect, watchdog disable, etc...). Currently, this special handling is implemented in the J-Link DLL which is used by the J-Flash but which can not be used by the Flasher. For the Flasher we have to implement this in some kind of special connect / reset script files. This is already on our internal list for future versions. For the MKV31F256, the watchdog needs to be disabled which is ac…

Hi, Currently, J-Flash lite tries to create a settings file which may fail if admin rights are required to create the file in the active working directory. We will change this in the next version, planned to be available during this week. Regarding your work-around: Once the file is present, J-Flash lite uses it and does not longer try to create a new one and therefore does not output any errors. Best regards Erik

Hi, I have noticed two things, which may cause the behavior you are seeing: 1. The SM470R1B1M is a big endian target, so you have to enter the "BE" command in J-Link Commander to switch to big endian mode 2. The SM470R1B1M / TMS470R1B1M devices require some special handling before the RAM is accessible An J-Flash example project, which includes the required steps, can be found in the J-Link Software and Documentation package installation directory %SEGGER_INST_DIR%\Samples\JFlash\ProjectFiles\TI…

Hi, We got the same request via e-mail and just replied to it. We will sort this case out via e-mail channel and post the final results here in the forum. To keep the rest of the forum members up-to-date: Regarding LPC1853 + S25FL128S: We are not aware of any issues with this setup. Anyhow, if you provide us with a reproduce, we will have a look at this and if required, implement a fix. Quote: “I tied to program it via SPI (without uC, image below) but i get message - "your JLink is to old to pr…

Hello Serg, The problem is the watchdog of the Kinetis device, which is enabled after reset. J-Flash / the J-Link DLL performs a device specific setup sequence on connect, which disables the watchdog. As the Flasher can not use the logic from the J-Link DLL, this has to be added manually. This is already on our list for future versions. Work-Around: Disable the watchdog as part of the init steps in the J-Flash project settings which are executed in stand-alone mode, too. Please find attached to …

Hi, Quick update on this: This has been delayed because we had to change the priorities due to other projects and feature requests. However, we are almost done with the (Q)SPI support for iMX6SX (already functional on the SABRE Board for i.MX 6SoloX / IiMX6SX SDK board). As the iMX6SX allows to use different pins / QSPI controller (QSPI1 and QSPI2) to connect the SPI flash, there is no generic implementation possible. Can you please let us know which pins you have used for the QSPI interface? On…

Hi all, Summary: - Erasing the option bytes is not faulty but results in enabling the windowed mode of the watchdog timer. Factory reset values of the option bytes are windowed mode not enabled. - If the windowed watchdog is enabled, this may results in different errors during flash programming (RAMCode execution) as for example: PC has unexpected value after..., Error during program / erase..., failed to perform blank check..., etc... - As Niklas already wrote, we will improve the SEGGER flash …

Quote: “How Can I use a batch file and make this 100% automatic? In other words, without any pressing "connect", choosing any options!” You can skip the "connect" input by passing "-AutoConnect 1" via command line option. Example: JLink.exe -device Cortex-M3 -if JTAG -jtagconf -1,-1 -speed 4000 -autoconnect 1 -CommanderScript C:\Work\JLinkCommandFile.jlink Content of JLinkCommandFile.jlink: r loadbin C:\Work\Test.bin,0x20000000 Further information regarding this can be found here: wiki.segger.co…

First, good to hear that you are up and running. Regarding your question: I am not aware of such a functionality in the GDB server protocol but the J-Link SDK can be used to implement this. Further information regarding the J-Link SDK can be found here: segger.com/jlink-sdk.html Best regards Erik
