    I have a external flash S29AL016D on my AT91SAM7SE0EK evaluation board. S29AL016D is in J-Flash supported flash devices list. I want to run the application with IAR debugger. Can I use IAR to download code into external flash by RDI or Debugger->Extra Options directly?

    currently RDI does not support external flash devices, so the S29AL016D can not be programmed with RDI and IAR.
    To download the code into the external flash, you can use J-Flash.
