  • [SOLVED] J-Flash Sector selection missing from Flash settings

    Hi,

We are using the 7.86h version of the J-Flash software.
Our target MCU is the NXP RT1166, with one external QSPI FLASH.

At some point the Sector selection was available in the FLAS settings page.
But now we can't find it any more.

Information about how to get the Sector selection back is very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!

    BR Rolf
  • There is no “getting” back here…
Did you notice the difference between your 2 screenshots?

    Screenshot A)
Shows the sectorization for the internal flash of an STM32… device.
It clearly says “static sector layout”

    Screenshot B)
Shows the sectorization of the external QSPI flash connected to an i.MXRT1166.
It clearly says “dynamic sector layout”.

While you cannot change the sectorization of the internal flash because it is built into the chip, you can connect a different WSPI flash with a different sectorization to the i.MXRT1166 for sure…
So at the “project time” J-Flash simply does not know the sectorization yet bit determines it at runtime.

So your statement of this being available once is just false. It never was available for the i.MXRT1166 with external QSPI flash.
