  • [SOLVED] JLink can't find custom devices XML

For the life of me I can't get my JLinkExe to find a custom device in the folder specified by wiki.segger.com/J-Link_Device_…t_Kit#JLinkDevices_folder

    ... so i have placed a xml (JLinkDevices.xml) in
    $HOME/.config/SEGGER/JLinkDevices

    as the instructions clearly say.

I have placed a custom .xml as per instructions in the wiki, and try to do

    JLinkExe -Device mydevice

but it never finds it. Anyone have any hints? Is there a debug mode where I can see if the parsing of the xml somehow fails?

Edit: I had a syntax error in my XML. JLink will remain totally silent about this. If you face similar difficulties, check your xml. The parsing has probably failed.

  • Good point... We will add some logging for XML file parsing, especially in error case.
These outputs will be part of the J-Link log file, they will *not* be output on stdout.
