What should I do to use it for free?
We have lots of original jLink at the office and you are still charging.
We also have some academic research projects but I am not if it counts from your side.
If you are using it in a commercial context, it is not free.
The SDK gives you additional rights (writing your custom applications that make use of the J-Link API)
very likely creates support for us
If it is used in a purely academic / non-profit context, there is always the option for discounts, exceptions, free in limited scope, ... but there is no generic recipe for this.
This is case-by-case.
