  • [SOLVED] How to fix a J-Link?

Hello, during the update of the firmware of my J-Link edu, the usb cable was disconnected from my computer and it is now damaged, there is no communication.

I want to know is it possible to fix my j-link in China?
  • Hi,

plugging the USB cable during the FW update does not damage the J-Link.
All that happens is that the update is incomplete and next time you power it, it will remain in BTL mode.
In this mode, when starting J-Link Commander, you will see this:

Confirm with "OK", let it do its magic and that's it.

  • You are not getting an FW restoration dialog because your FW is not damaged….
As I wrote before: Unplugging J-Link during the FW update does not damage it.

It is more likely that your setup is broken (broken wires etc) or you programmed something into the chip that made it unresponsive to debug & programming requests.
