  • There was no question about RTT, HSS etc. in the thread you referenced.
    So the question in the thread was fully answered.

    Also, we never wrote that OpenOCD is a full replacement. If it would be, why should there be a J-Link software?

    That‘s all debug support there is right now for ESP32 and there are no signs that it will change anytime soon.
    Currently, there is no interest from Espressif to have 3rd party support or an ecosystem with 3rd party.

    If that attitude changes, we can reconsider because it would make things much more attractive for SEGGER.

    Is there a possiblity to create custom ESP32 decice definition record for devices.xml file?
  • There is currently no possibility to add support for new (unknown) architectures to J-Link by 3rd parties.
    This is something on the ToDo but not with the highest priority.
