  • [ABANDONED] Linux (Ubuntu) - J-Link ttyACM port numbers?

On Windows (on a given PC), the COMx: number will always be the same for the same J-Link.

Thus, when (not if) I have multiple J-Links, I can tell which one I'm connecting to from its COM port number.

Does the same apply to Ubuntu, or does it just use ttyACM0 for whichever J-Link (or other ACM device) is connected first, ttyACM1 for whichever is connected second, etc ... ?

I am using Ubuntu 20.04.3 LTS (in a VirtualBox VM on Win10-Pro).
  • More a question for a Linux forum.
J-Link does not use any special names etc. for the COM port enumeration under Linux.

The name is chosen by Linux, as well as the numbering etc.
Usually, the 1st J-Link that enumerates gets ttyACM0, the next …1, and so on.
