  • [SOLVED] Memory test of MCIMX6S5

    Hi,

It's my intention to use the J-Link Commander to run a memory test on the NXP MCIMX6S5. This is supported as a 'known' device.

Does using the 'Device' command (selecting MCIMX6S5) configure the MCIMX6S5 to use the JTAG interface? Do I just need a J-Link and the SDK or is there anything else required? It's just that someone told me I would need some form of device specific configuration file from the silicon vendor.

    Thanks.

The device interface can be selected by the user directly, e.g. via command line: wiki.segger.com/J-Link_Commander#-If
or via the "si" command: wiki.segger.com/J-Link_Commander#si

    What you require

It depends on what kind of test you want to do.
If you simply want to read some flash/RAM, the easiest way would probably be to use the J-Link Commander.
If you want to have a solid/complex test setup we would recommend the SDK.

    Does this answer your questions?
