  • [ABANDONED] Segger RTT no output when using Jlink-Remote Server

    Hi,

    we are using segger remote server to run our builds on a different machine (see below). The deployment and the debugging works fine but unfortunately we are not able to get any rtt output from the JTrace.
    We tried to use the rtt client and the rtt viewer. It connects successfully when selecting usb as connection type, but it will not show any output. We also tried to connect directly with telnet 19021, connection established but no output.

    Machine(deploy):
    - JLink V6.60f
    - J-Trace Pro
    - Windows 10
    - Running Jlink Remote Server (TCP)

    Machine(build):
    - JLink V6.60d
    - Eclipse (shh X11)
    - Connected via TCP to the Remote Server (No Segger Tunnel)
    - Debian
    ###RTT Client: Connection lost. Going to reconnect.
    ###RTT Client: Connecting to J-Link RTT Server via localhost:19021 ...
    ###RTT Client: Connected.

    SEGGER J-Link V6.60f - Real time terminal output
    SEGGER J-Trace PRO V1.0, SN=751000195
    Process: JLinkRemoteServer.exe
  • Hi,
    Thank you for your inquiry.
    Such an issue is not known to us.

    Could you please tell answer the following questions:
    1) What device are you trying to get data from?
    2) Do you get RTT output, when using a local setup (using RTT Viewer on the same PC as the J-Link is connect to, without Remote Server)?
    3) Do you use custom hardware or an evaluation board? In the latter case which one?
    If custom hardware, do you experience the same problem on an evaluation board?
    4) Could you please send us a screenshot of the RTT Tab of the J-Link Web control panel?

    Best regards,
    Fabian
