    • Emwin Bitmap converter 8bpp conversion

      Hello,

Am using iMXRT1064 controller with Emwin. I am using 8bpp. when bitmap converter is used to convert an image to 8 bit color 3-3-2 or 2-3-3 or 3-2-3 format the image is distorted a lot. what could be the reason?. The images are developed by our designer and png files are used for the images.

if 16bit is used and 5-6-5 mode is used the images are displayed fine.

      Regards,

      Anuj
    • Hi,

Is it possible to attach one of the PNG files?

I'd like to reproduce the issue.

Try to convert the image into RGB first.

      Regards,
      Sven

    • Hi,

I guess this is related to the transparency. You could try to modify the image with a tool like GIMP or Photoshop to remove the transparency.

    • Hi,

In general there is no transparency with 8bpp.

Depending on your LCD controller it might be possible that it supports some very strange formats.

Some use index 0 as transparency, other controller use a second byte for transparency (having 8bit color and 8bit transparency).

The STM32 is capable of this. It can be configured for 16bpp using 8bit color and 8bit transparency.

You might also refer to the emWin user manual and check out the different color modes. It can be found in chapter 15.6 Fixed palette modes.

      Regards,
      Sven
