  • [SOLVED] Secure JTAG (NXP RT1051, SJC mode 2)

    Hi,
We are trying to implement Challenge/Response Mechanism using Segger J-Link and VisualGDB on i.MX-RT1051
This mechanism is used to lock JTAG interface in manufacturing process to increase security of system. Authorized re-activation of JTAG interface possible in field-returned devices.
    Description: nxp.com/docs/en/application-note/AN4686.pdf

NXP recommends Lauterbach TRACE32 debug tool. Segger J-Link is not supported yet.
Mechanism is very simple, and described in 2.1.2 Debug flow when Secure JTAG mode is enabled (see application note above).

Our question: how we can implement such Challenge/Response Mechanism using Segger J-Link?
  • Hello,

    Thank you for your inquiry.
We noticed that the J-Link you registered with is still in support period. In that case we recommend opening a support ticket for further information as this forum is no official support channel.
Generally your task sounds solvable via a JLinkScript file.
More information can be found in the J-Link user manual UM08001.

    Best regards,
    Nino
