  • [ABANDONED] [Flasher potable] unlock process in stand alone mode

    Hello,
We are using Flasher Portable and want to unlock, erase, program in stand alone mode as well.
I checked Flasher Portable plus is available that through this forum.
Could anyone confirm that Flasher Portable is not available to unlock in stand alone mode without computer connection?

If then, that means we have to buy Flasher Portable plus for unlocking in stand alone mode.
Could anyone confirm that Flasher Portable Plus has equivalent and better specification to Flasher Portable?

    Thanks.

    best regards
  • Hello,

it depends on which device you are going to use. There are several different methods for unlocking chips.
Some of them can easily be implemented into the J-Flash project's "init steps", others can for now only be
implemented by writing a special connect sequence.

Which device are you going to program?

    Best regards

  • Hi,

We are using STM32F417 as MCU and want to rewrite the program(MCU had been written initially with locked program.)
Our R&D team already tried to rewrite our Flasher Portable in stand alone mode but it did not work.
They know rewriting using J-Flash software with PC connection and unlock process is working although it takes some more seconds than initial writing time.
Rewriting with unlock process in Stand alone mode is what our R&D team we wants.

    Thanks.

  • Hello,

the Flasher Portable PLUS should be able to unlock an STM32F417 MCU in standalone mode.
We will check, if we can reproduce the failure.

Are you using the recent J-Link software version and did you update the Flasher Portable PLUS
    to the newest firmware, too?

    Best regards

  • Hi,

Let me explain our situation again.

    1. We are using Flasher Portable, not Flasher Portable Plus.
    2. Our R&D team wants to rewrite program to STM32F417 MCU using our Flasher Portable in stand alone mode.
    3. When they tried to rewrite, it did not work. This means Flasher Portable could not unlock the program in MCU in stand alone mode.
    4. When they tried to rewrite using J-flash, it worked.
    5. Question.
    (1) Is Flasher Portable available unlock function in stand alone mode? If yes, please let us know the method.
    (2) If the answer for (1) is 'NO', is it right buying "Flasher Portable Plus" is the only solution to unlock and rewrite program using stand alone mode?

    Thanks for your cooperation.

    Best regards
    Shinyoung
