  • [SOLVED] SAMA5D3 Explained Board

    HI,
    I have bought
    • SAMA5D3 Xplained Board.
    • Segger J-Link
    • IAR work bench trial.
    I used the IAR workbench.
I fail to download the firmware into the demo.

I got the error message "Failed to CPU Status after 4 retries"
Then, I run the J-Link STR9 Commander R6. In this program, I got error message
"Reset pin is high but should be low.
Please ensure that jumper RST-TRST is not set"

Please guide me how to proceed.

    Thanks.
    Br,
    KonSang
  • Hello KoSang,

    Thank you for your inquiry.
Can you connect to your target device using the normal J-Link Commander? wiki.segger.com/J-Link_cannot_…ty_using_J-Link_Commander
Could you post a screenshot of your output?
Why were you using the STR9 Commander? It should only be used with ST STR9x devices and none other.
How did you set up IAR? Did you follow the guide on our website? segger.com/products/debug-prob…ormation-about-iar-ewarm/

    Best regards,
    Nino

  • Hi KonSang,

The JTAG cable is attached the wrong way on the board.
That is why you get VTref 0.0 V. If you flip it around you should get 3.3 V and connection should work.

    Best regards,
    Nino
