  • [SOLVED] JLINKv8 crashes under Windows 7 64bit

I'm using a jLink Lite Cortex- v8.00. After some software updates (windows updates, changed the IAR license with a dongle license) the flashing/downloading stopped working. The error in jlink.exe is related to the following code: 0xC0000005 (unhandled exception at 0x0A0D6B6E).

A similar error I received in IAR embedded workbench:
    “Mon Feb 27, 2017 08:16:01: IAR Embedded Workbench 7.70.2 (armproc.dll)
    Mon Feb 27, 2017 08:16:01: Loaded macro file: C:\Program Files (x86)\IAR Systems\Embedded Workbench 7.5\arm\config\debugger\NXP\KW2xD.dmac
Mon Feb 27, 2017 08:16:15: Fatal error: Unknown exception in driver 3 Session aborted!
    Mon Feb 27, 2017 08:16:16: IAR Embedded Workbench 7.70.2 (armproc.dll)”

I tried to reinstall IAR and different versions of Segger Firmware (6.12i, 6.12j, 6.14), but with no improvement.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Ovidiu
  • Hello Ovidiu,

This sounds strange indeed. Could you test your hardwaresetup on another pc and report back with your findings?
As for know it is hard to reproduce or understand your issue.

    Best regards,
    Nino

  • Hi Nino,

Thanks for the reply. I validated the setup using a secondary PC and everything works fine.
As you mentioned, it is hard to replicate, so probably I will need to do some windows recovery stuff.

    Thanks anyway,
    Ovidiu
  • Hello Ovidiu,

Thank you for your feedback. I am glad to hear that the setup works at least on another machine.
Should you come up with a reproducible error setup we are happy to test it as long it is a J-Link Hardware or Software related issue.

    Best regards,
    Nino
