  • [SOLVED] Problem with SEGGER J-Link Base and RX63N

    Hello!

Approximately one and a half years ago, our company has purchased a device SEGGER J-Link Base version 9.3.
We have used it for programming and debugging our device based on Renesas RX63N.
Several days ago our company has purchased a device SEGGER J-Link Base version 10.1.
We update all software (install J-Link Software and Documentation pack for Windows V6.12a, update firmware to version 2016 Sep 1 18:29).

SEGGER J-Link Base version 9.3 works fine.

But SEGGER J-Link Base version 10.1 works very strange.
It return message ***** Error: Failed to prepare for programming.

What is the difference between them?
What may well affect the operation of SEGGER J-Link Base version 10.1?

We use Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers for software development

  • Hello,

you sent us the same request via E-Mail.
Update for other customers which might have similar issues:
It turned out that an interface speed which is out-of-spec has been used (15 MHz) while the RX63N series is specified with 10 MHz max. JTAG speed.
When using a speed within the spec (<= 10 MHz) both J-Links are working as expected.

    Best regards
    Erik
