[SOLVED] J-Links debug probe and pinout

  • [SOLVED] J-Links debug probe and pinout

    Hello,

I currently use a for my project Renesas E1 and E20 probe to debug a soft running on RX631.
I would like to use a Jlink one for testing purpose (try RTT and percepio in streaming mode).

My question is about the JTAG pinout. Our board has a 10 pin connector as follow:

    1 EMLE TDI 6
    2 TCK RST 7
    3 TRST GND 8
    4 TDO VCC 9
    5 TMS VCC 10

The segger JLink probes use 20 or 14 pin connector.
Does a custom adapter for 10 pin JTAG will work with Jlink?
  • Hi,

We sell this adapter for RX:
    segger.com/jlink-adapters.html#RX
    segger.com/jlink-rx-adapter.html

The adapter 's connector is not compatible with your Layout.
Does a custom adapter for 10 pin JTAG will work with Jlink?

Yes, you will need to connect the pins manually.
Regarding the layout, please refer to segger.com/cms/admin/uploads/u…dapter_Rev5_Schematic.pdf

    Best regards,
    Niklas
