  • WARNING: RESET (pin 15) high, but should be low

    Hi there

I have a problem with an Energy Micro EFM32-G290-DK development kit. When I try to connect with it I keep getting:-

WARNING: RESET (pin 15) high, but should be low. Please check target hardware.
    No device found on SWD.
    Did not find any core.

Howerver, on the kit I can see the reset LED come on each time I try to connect and the board does reset (and I even scoped the reset line and it does go low).

This is a brand new dev kit, just took receipt of it yesterday. I know it's SEGGER is OEM (it's built into the dev kit) but I'm hoping someone can shed some light on what else to look for. I have tried all the usual things (rebooted PC, tried all the USB ports, re-installed the SEGGER drivers) and nothing seems to work.

If anyone can at least tell me why the SEGGER jlink seems to think the reset is high when it's low it would help a lot.

    Thanks.

After some more digging I found that the main control board has four modes, In, Out, MCU and Off.

After a power on it defaults to In. Switching this to MCU makes the SEGGER connect to the MCU daughter board and it all appears to work fine.

Note, you need to go to Energy Micro's website and download the eACommander package to do this. Why it's not in their "getting started" guide is beyond me but there you go.

Also this setting for the EFM32-G290-DV is not persistent meaning you have to do that each time the unit is powered up. Later models (Giant and beyond) this setting persists across power cycling.
