  • Hi Nino, thanks for your reply. I'm still most interested whether I can write (watched) variables without stopping the program in Ozone and ES. And is there a difference in CPU support? As far as I see, there are two levels: 1. Being able to connect to the CPU, load a binary to flash memory and do general debugging. 2. Symbolic access to the derivative peripheral registers. That's kind of a luxury feature but can be very useful during development. Oliver

  • Hi, what are the differences between the debugger in Embedded Studio and the Ozone debugger? Is there a difference in CPU support, i.e. the STM32G4 family? Do both support realtime variable view? Is there a difference in the update rate? Do both support writing to variables while the program is running? TIA, Oliver

  • Hi, when I bought my XMC-Link (a tiny isolated J-Link available for ~100EUR), I was able to use it with any controller. Now I switched my PC, loaded the current V6.62a Segger drivers, followed the firmware update offer and... It "killed" my XMC-Link: JLink.exe now tells me that my XMC-Link may be used only with XMC controllers and refuses to work with an STM32. To put it mildly, I'm not very happy about this action. IMNSHO, you must not render my existing and paid hardware unusable. Without a wa…

  • Did my information help? Can I program arbitrary values? Oliver

  • Hello Niklas, I use the isolated "Infineon XMC Link" (the one in the transparent enclosure) and want to program a XMC1100 with BSLTO, preferably custom timeout value. Greetings, Oliver

  • Hi, the Jlink commander SetBMI allows a selection of 0..9, but I need another value. Can I pass the hex value? TIA, Oliver

  • (necessary to install both "USB Driver for J-Link" and "USB Driver for J-Link with Virtual COM Port"?) Quote from SEGGER - Alex: “Yes, you always need the VCOM drivers for J-Links which support VCOM. The problem is that such J-Links enumerate with a different product ID than other ones which requires a different driver. ” good to know and IMO not obvious. Maybe it's worth an explanation in the dialog. BTW: Is there any instruction or best practice how to install the software? IMO it's somewhat p…

  • Quote from SEGGER - Alex: “ Quote: “when I attach a Infineon XMC1100 Demoboard with a J-Link Lite,” I think you are referring to "J-Link-OB" here. J-Link LITE is something different... LITE: Separate probe that comes with an eval board OB: On-board version of J-Link which is (as the name says...) on-board and so *not* a separate probe. ” In J-Link config, it's displayed as SEGGER J-Link Lite-XMC4200 V1.00. It's on the same board as the target but with milled slits so it can be detached. Quote: “…

  • Hi, standard German 32 Bit XP. Will be retired "really soon now"... Oliver

  • more information: I removed the old drivers and installed 4.74, now it seems to work. The only difference is the InstDrivers.exe (4.74: 2013-07-17, 4.84: 2014-03-28) and InstDriversCDC.exe file. The USB drivers are identical. Strange... Maybe the newer InstDrivers.exe have problems with my system. Oliver

  • Hi, when I attach a Infineon XMC1100 Demoboard with a J-Link Lite, the USB driver installation dialog says the the driver installation is not possible, because the software wasn't found (German text: Hardwareinstallation nicht möglich. Die Hardware wurde nicht installiert, weil die erforderliche Software nicht gefunden wurde). It does not help to point the installation to the driver in JLinkARM_V482\USBDriver\x86 The J-Link lite worked before, the problem started after the following steps: - Upd…
