Hi Alex, thanks for your quick response. As I know, JLink-EDU have 90 days limited warranty. I bought mine 1.5 years ago, so, I think my warranty is gone.... I can replace the chip if, its fully damaged, myself- its not a problem for me. But firmware will be a big problem. Are you have idea to solve this problem? My Serial: 268000491 Best regards, Sebastian

Hi Alex, tried on real PC yesterday on Windows and Linux (Ubuntu). LED still OFF all the time. USB find no new hardware plugged. So Its looks like damaged device. I think its something goes worn on firmware upgrade and must not to be a problem with OSX driver. Yes, Ive problems using it in VM, and can imagine a problem from flash. Before you ask: no target hardware was connected on firmware upgrade, JLink was directly connected to USB prort from iMac. My JLink was a long time not in use, so I ha…

  • Hi! here are one more workaround. Download newest libusb source from source forge page. If you already tried to instal: "make clean". Follow how-to but replace "./configure" using "env CFLAGS="-arch i386" ./configure" Than "make" and "sudo make install" Thats it! It seems to be JLinkExe compiled for "i368". Regards, Sebastian P.S. here are whole workaround include CrossStudio on my blog: exodusamps.com/Exodusamps/Embe…CrossWorks_%26_JLink.html

  • Hi Mac users here, workaround in readme.txt will not work on Mac OSX 10.7.3 (Lion). Ive tested MacPorts and Fink. Reason: wrong architecture. You can try it yourself. Not worked by me and Rowley Associates guys too. In imo: iMac Core2Duo, Rowley: newer Core i5 and Core i7 Macs. It can work on Snow Leopard, but not Lion. Replacing files with my (in attachment) will fix this problem. Please not forget to make a link or erase it if usblib are directly in user/lical/lib . Borrowed SAM-ISE communicat…

Hi Marius, yes, Ive tried to connect to Windows&Debian-6: LED on JLink EDU are still off, no USB hardware can be found. Did you need my SerialNr? I still have invoice in original package too. On firmware upgrade was no target on JTAG connected, JLink was directly on iMac USB port. I'd already problems using 4.42b on Windows. And before you ask: its nothing patched or so: all legal and original. Regards, Sebastian

Hi everybody, be happy about OSX driver for JLink and wish to try: connect my 1,5 years old and rare used JLink EDU. 1. LED lights permanent: nice! 2. start JLink execute (sudo ./start) and become nice feedback (SEGGER J-Link Commander V4.43c ....) 3. LED goes off on point normally become typical JLink EDU screen to accept non-profit usage 4. LED goes on 5. than "communication timeout: Requested 1 bytes, received -1 bytes !" 6. LED goes off forever Replugging not help. Opened enclosure and check…

  • Hi Alex, Ive make new VM XP-SP3 (latest), without any additional software: exactly the same strange thing. Installed CoIDE+CodeSourcery Lite: 4.42a gdb(cl) works fine, 4.42b can not find JLink and and CoIDE kill debugging after some minutes. Plugged JLink directly to iMac (not used USB-Hub), checked USB-2 support from VM - same thing. This problem disturb me not too much (cause Im hardware developer and learn embedded C privately), I use to think this problem will be interest for you. Ill use 4.…

  • Oh, I just wish to remind you, but not antagonize or annoy you, sorry. Its even totally great news about OSX driver!!!!!! My VMWare Fusion VM are custom built and over 40Gig (cause Altium Designer etc) - so its is not really possible to upload it. Ill make small new one to check JLink 4.42b on it without additional software and will let you know about it. Or, if you already tested on one VM image- let me know about, please. Best regards, Sebastian

  • P.S. Copied JLink-dll from 4.42a to 4.42b : all seems to work back. DLL files are NOT identical! Have even different size and compile time. Firmware still 8.FEB 2012 Best regards, Sebastian

  • Hi Alex, its really stance thing..... By the way, every time I close new commander JLink will be found as new hardware (JLink EDU), but not SAM-ICE (it must be re-plugged), very strange, really. I cannot see any reason why it could not work on VMWare too. Demo from Keil runs whiteout any problem (cause another all-file), CooCox and CrossWorks not "like" 4.42b but runs without any problem using 4.42a. My versions are V8, I can send you SerialNrs if needed. Firmware compiled 8.2.2012 (newest). Any…

  • Hi, Ive updated the software pack from 4.42a to 4.42b. If iI start JLink Commander (4.42b) I can see terminal, nothing going on, after some seconds: "dll cannot be loaded" and terminal still "autistic". Close all, replug JLink and start older (4.42a) version: all working well. Same thing using beta version: one time started new Commander version nothing works and JLink needs to reconnect (via USB to reload driver). My system: WinXP 32Bit as VM (VMWare Fusion), host system OSX 10.7.3 Lion. On Deb…
