Quote from klaux: “Has anyone already written the RTOSinit module matching this processor? ” Hi Karsten, there is a sample BSP for the AT91SAM9261, that would be quite similar to the SAM9263. May be going from there makes most sense. segger.com/atmel_sam9261.html The embOS trial version on that site has been generated with the IAR compiler. hth, Bob

  • Hi Marcio. $6k is in deed a lot of money and I am sure it was not for the price of the J-Link which is just 249 Euros stand alone. In my former company, we bought a IAR ARM7 Starter kit for $299 including the yellow J-Link. I was told, the yellow J-Link works with multiple ARMs from different vendors (did not ask for the SAMSUNG though) Bob

  • Marcio, there are often restricted versions of a software / hardware for a much lower price available than the full-featured version. I assume that Segger and Atmel have an agreement that the price for the SAM-ICE is much lower than that of the full-featured, fully flexible J-Link. This is to the benefit of both companies, Atmel because their customers are limited to Atmel products for debugging, as your example shows and Segger because customers working with multiple architectures need either a…

  • Gerhard, beats me WHY there is a difference, I only noticed THAT there is a difference. If you are working on a project just for yourself, J-Flash is probably more expensive than your time that will only be long enough for a coffee break if you are using a big chip. You have the option to check it out. It is my understanding that there are trial version for all Segger products. If it works, you can decide whether it is worth your money, if not, your setup might be different than mine anyhow. Bob

  • Hi Gerhard, although I never measured the actual download speed, we use two different programs to download to the target. It is more convenient to use the directly implemented download in EWARM, however, using J-Flash from Segger yielded in much faster downloads. Somewhere I have seen a number of 700 kBytes/sec posted, from what I could see within the workbench, that is wishful thinking, nevertheless through J-Flash that might be very close to reality. Hope that helps a little, Bob

Hi Pete, you are right, little (none?) relationship to J-Link. Guess the Segger staff wanted to be nice. I would second your proposal to add another forum for GUI or whatever it might be called. Cheers, Bob
