    Dear Support,

    there are already two unanswered threads on this subject:
    JLink starting up with "Emulator selection" window
    JLink starting up with "Emulator selection" window

    Annoying emulator selection window
    Annoying emulator selection window

    which refer to the same issue: even with the latest emulator driver sw (4.12c), Jlink firmware upgrade, and the latest Keil environment (uVision 4.13a) whenever a debug session is started, the selection window for the emulator pops-up three times in a row.

    This is not only annoying, it is wasting everybody's time and although I favoured Jlink over other emulators, this is making me consider changing tool as it seems this problem is there but is not being addressed.

    Changing the identification mode by using the serial number instead of the USB id does not change the picture

    Is somebody from Segger looking at this ?

  • Fyi, feedback received from support on this:

    We are not happy about this popup either.
    This Popup appears, if the dll is called with an USB-Port where no J-Link is connected.
    KEIL currently iterates over all available USB-Ports and for each "empty" port this popup is displayed.
    We have asked them to change it and we expect a solution soon.
    But it definitely cannot hurt, if you direct your complaint to KEIL also.

    v4.15n does not have this popup.

    We have build a patched release version (V4.20n) in which this "erroneous" pop-up of the dialog has been fixed.

    Could you please try out the latest release version (V4.20n)?
