    What is the advantage of buying an OEM version of the J-Link instead of the vanilla? I am currently looking at getting an Atmel SAM3U development kit, but I am not entirely decided, and I will be using different versions of the ARM processor in the future.

    advantage: The OEM J-Links do not cost as much as the SEGGER one.

    Limitations of the OEM J-Links:
    Most OEM J-Links are limited to work
    only with a specific chip vendor (e.g. SAM-ICE works with Atmel devices only, Digi JTAG link work with Digi devices only).
