  • [SOLVED] JTrace on Microsemi A2F200M3F

    Greetings,
We use JLink Plus for debugging our application running on Microsemi A2F200M3F. We are considering purchasing JTrace to help us solve a problem that we can't so far with normal debugging.

The A2F200M3F processor is listed in support for JTrace. This Cortex-M3 processor does not incorporate an Embedded Trace Macrocell (ETM). It does however support Instrumentation Trace Macrocell (ITM).
Does JTrace support this type of trace interface? If so we need to know connections from processor to JTrace.

Any help you could give related to using JTrace with this processor would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Man...
  • Hi,

Unfortunately, ITM does not provide Instruction trace.
If the A2F200M3F does not support ETM, J-Trace does not provide any benefit over J-Link PRO, since both J-Trace and J-Link PRO support ETB -Tracing.
If the A2F200M3F does not support ETB either, I would suggest to use a J-Link ULTRA+ or a J-Link PRO + SEGGER SystemView in order to analyze the runtime behavior of the target. ( Works for all Cortex-M devices).
