  • [SOLVED] In IAR C-SPY, NXP LPC2388 is really slow to load with JLink 6.10g

In IAR C-SPY, my code running on NXP LPC2388 is really slow to load with JLink 6.10g with NXP LPC reset mode and adaptive clock.

    It is about 50 seconds.

With JLink 4.86a, it is 25 seconds.

With 5.02k, it is 35 seconds but the C-Spy cannot set breakpoints:

Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:20:37: Hardware reset with strategy 9 was performed
    Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:20:44: 167676 bytes downloaded into FLASH and verified (14.01 Kbytes/sec)
    Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:20:44: Loaded debugee: D:\repository\autooption\trunk\PROJECT\workspace\Debug_Flash_Rev2\Exe\autoOption.out
    Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:20:44: Target reset
Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:20:44: Failed to set breakpoint at 0x00000008 (out of breakpoints?)
Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:20:44: Unable to set SVC Semihosting breakpoint
Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:20:44: Failed to set breakpoint at 0x000118D4 (out of breakpoints?)
Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:20:44: There was 1 error during the initialization of the debugging session.

How can it be improved ?

    Thanks
    Anthony
  • Hi Anthony,

V5.02k is a quite old version of the J-Link DLL. Can you please give it a try using the latest version V6.12 in order to exclude that this behavior is already fixed in the recent version? If the issue persists, we will quick check if the behavior is reproducible.

The latest version is available for download here: segger.com/downloads/jlink
