    i have a beaglebone black (rev-c) and i also have j-link EDU .. when connecting using the command

    JLink.exe -device am3358 -if JTAG -speed 4000
    or
    JLink.exe -device am3359 -if JTAG -speed 4000
    i got following error

    Cannot connect to target.
    i have searched the in internet but can't find any solution and i can understands what is the error.

    i also tried to start BBB without booting from eMMC by using boot button but i got always the same.

    I just gave it a try an connecting to a BBB using your settings (JTAG, 4000kHz) works fine for me. (Screenshot attached)
    VTref = 1.023V

    This is suspicious to me, i would guess 1V is too low.

    Could you please check the power supply you are using for the board?

    I used a "generic" center positive 5V 1.5A power supply.

  • Hello, and I don't update the firmware JetLink(picture), because I heard that after updating he bad work. Maybe because of this error?

    which device do you want to connect to?
    Please type in device name and not the core name when asked for the device.

    Are you sure you can connect to the core via JTAG? Or does it maybe only have SWD connected?

    I am sorry to hear that you are still experiencing issues.

    I just gave it a try and it works fine:


    Therefore, I can only assume that either there is sth. wrong with the wiring or that the CPU is in a secured / ultra-low power etc. state in which it cannot be debugged.

  • Ok,thanks, I will check the wiring, especially that there is an error : "Could not measure total IR len. TDO is constant high."

    Another question: I have JetLink 9. I heard that it can't be upgraded without hardware modifications. Tell me where to read about it. Thanks in advance!

    I am a little bit confused about the term "JetLink". The product is called J-Link, which is also printed on the outside.
    If it says sth. different on the unit, could you please take a picture of it and upload it as an attachment in the forum?
