  • [SOLVED] J-Link EDU does work with newest firmware V9 compiled Jul 29 2016 + OpenOCD 0.9.0

I have updated my J-Link EDU (hardware V9.30) to the latest firmware version V9 compiled Jul 29 2016 18:50:09. With this new firmware, OpenOCD V.0.9.0 doesn't work anymore (see log below).

How can I go back to the firmware version V9 compiled Sep 18 2015 19:53:12?

    Thanks in advance

  • Hi,

could you please download the most recent version of the J-Link software & documentation pack (V6.00d)?
It comes with a new firmware (Aug 01 2016), which most likely fixes this issue.

    Best regards,
    Niklas

  • Hi Daniel,

sorry, mistake on my side. Aug 01 2016 is an internal version, but Jul 29 2016 is the official firmware version and contains all bugfixes.
If you want to downgrade the firmware, please follow the steps described in UM8001, chapter "Background Information" , section "J-Link / J-Trace firmware", subsection "Invalidating the firmware".
Please note, as it is also stated in the manual, (although it usually works out fine and there are no known issues,) downdating J-Link / J-Trace is not recommended, you do it at your own risk. .

Could you please inform us if the issue is resolved when using an older firmware, and which is latest firmware that works for you?

    Best regards,
    Niklas

  • Hello Forum,
