  • ARM DS-5 Linux support

    Hi,

I would like to evaluate the Linux version of ARM DS-5 for kernel debugging using J-Link. I noticed that you have instruction related to DS-5 only for Windows. Is there a Linux version or any future plans ?

    Regards,
    Cristi
  • Hi Cristi,

ARM removed RDI support some time ago.
As a result, there is no open / documented API which could be used to add J-Link support to DS-5.

In order to support the Windows version we had to reverse engineer their new RDDI protocol.
Therefore this was a lot more time intensive then necessary and also maintaining this project is annoying.

Doing the same for linux seems not like a good option to us. We might do it if there is a lot of demand.

ARM seems neither to be averse to implement native J-Link support into DS-5, nor do they rush for it at the moment.
Feel free to ask them for a road map regarding native J-Link support in DS-5 :)

    Best regards,
    Niklas
