  • Differences between J-Link PLUS and J-Link Ultra

We are using J-Link PLUS and J-Link Ultra with the ARM AXD debugger over the RDI interface on Windows 7. Our processor is an Arm9

The J-Link Ultra works great with no issues, however when using the J-Link PLUS we get processor faults which cause our program to stop executing.

Are there any differences between the models which could cause problems? This is not a high speed processor, so I did not think the interface speed would matter.

  • Hi,

Are there any differences between the models which could cause problems?

No. If it works with an J-Link ULTRA+, it should also work with an J-Link PLUS (despite lower interface speeds etc.)

could you please provide is with of a J-Link Logfile of
    a) A working session (J-Link ULTRA+)
    b) A non-working session (J-Link PLUS)
    ?

Log output can be enabled like as follows:
    • Open a connection to J-Link, e.g start J-Link Commander
    • In J-Link Control Panel: (Click the J-Link symbol located in the notification / tray area in order to open J-Link Control panel)
    • Open the tab "Settings"
    • Next to the field "Log file" check "Override" and click "..." in order to choose a log file path.

This is also described in UM8001 Chapter 5 "Working with J-Link and J-Trace", Section 5.7 "J-Link control panel" .

    Best regards,
    Niklas

  • It turns out I was wrong, it is not an ULTRA+, but an Ultra, here is the version information. I need to get approval before uploading the logs.

The Ultra has much older firmware/HW revs. The Ultra also does not appear to be for sale anymore.

Thanks, we are looking forward to receive the logs.
Please abstain from editing the logs as most of the time when this is done it makes them useless.
