  • [SOLVED] Samsung Exynos5422 support

    I have a J-link V8.0 that I have tried to access an Exynos5422 Octacore processor that has 4 Cortex A7 and 4 Cortex A15.
I'm using it with SEGGER J-Link GDB Server V5.00j.

I am able to connect to the target but see only of the cores - an A15.

Is there I can set up the probe to support this chip better?

    Thanks.
  • Hi Tonyw,

sorry for the delay in response.
J-Link stops automatic identification of cores after a first has been identified. Most multi core devices need special handling in order to access other cores than the first one.
Preparing of the J-Link DLL in order to access a specific core can be done using J-Link script files. (UM8001 chapter 5 "Working with J-Link and J-Trace" section 5.10 "J-Link script files")

An example script file can be found here: wiki.segger.com/index.php?title=RZ/G1_Dual_core_debugging

    Best regards,
    Niklas
