  • True color 8888 with alpha channel not supported in Bitmap Converter Demo version

    Hi,

I am using trial version of BitMap Converter.
I want to create icons with transparency to get attractive look and feel of the icons.
However, I do not get BMP8888 based icon c code from BitMap converter.
  • Hello,

The Bitmap Converter actually supports the True Color format. Once a "C"- or "DTA"-file should be saved, the Bitmap Converter offers all available option for the current image. If the Bitmap Converter does not offer saving the image in the True Color format this means, that the source image also does support True Colors.

If you try to store a PNG file with alpha channel as "C"-file, the Bitmap Converter will ask to store it in the True Color format including the alpha channel. Please see attached screenshot.

    Best regards,
    Adrian

  • Thanks for your reply.

I am not sure of how to create icons (of good quality).
I have attached image 1: png file and Image 2: bmp file
I create a c code out of these images by option creating alpha.
The image/code do not give me clear icons.

Can you suggest me some way?
I use image 2 as white background

    Load image_1.png into bitmapconverter.
convert into bmp image and save it as image_1.bmp.
Create image_2.bmp as a white background.

    Click on "Create Alpha"
    Load Image_1.bmp as image 1
    load image_2.bmp as image 2
    Click ok
    Create C file.

  • I basically want a clean and good quality icon. The white background over black background created better results in some other pics, which inspired me to try this.

Unfortunately, I did not understand your answer with respect to my query.

Can you provide me below things to generate quality icons.
    1. c based file for the image_1 (as an example)
    2. Procedure to obtain above

    Thanks.
